FAQ
Here are some frequently asked questions about our services. Anytime you see “Alarm Company” I am referring to your current alarm system provider.
1. Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are fully licensed with the State of Texas to install security, access control, cctv and intercom systems. We work under Loss Prevention Services, located in Houston, TX. Insurance is current and meets all requirements by law. Loss Prevention Services can provide licensed Fire Alarm installers on larger sub contracted projects, however Moore Security does not have a license to install Fire Alarm systems independently at this time.
2. Do you offer monitoring?
Yes. You will be provided with several options for monitoring using a dedicated Central Station independent of Moore Security and LPS. You are not bound to any one monitoring company when using our services.
3. Do you install Fire Alarm Systems?
Not always. We do have licensed technicians available for installations and servicing. However, these technicians are available for mostly sub contract labor and we do not offer installation of Fire Alarm Systems at this time.
4. Where are you located?
We operate out of North Central Austin between Rundburg and Braker on the Northbound frontage road of I-35. But you can find us ALL OVER Austin! Loss Prevention Services is located in Houston, TX.
5. What areas do you service?
We service many cities around the state of Texas including Austin, Houston and Dallas areas. We focus our work on the Central Texas area, mainly Austin. We will travel to other areas when needed. You can find our installations in many places including Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Killeen, Temple, Waco, Hillsborough, Ft Worth, Dallas, Wichita Falls, Amarillo, Kyle, Buda, San Marcos, San Antonio, McAllen, Loredo, Houston, Galveston and many more. We also serve East Texas and Lousiana.
6. Do you warranty your installations?
All parts are covered under your manufacturers warranty. Moore Security warranties all installations for one year. In the case of sub contract installations your warranty is transfered to any maintenance agreement you have with your Alarm Company.
7. If you’re doing sub contract work for another company, can I hire you for another job?
You can recommend Moore Security perform your next installation if you choose to continue your services with your Alarm Company. However, we do not wish or intend to take over any job from one of our contractors. We appreciate the business and we will be happy to come back for another round, but we are not interested in taking any business away from our contract providers. Any kind words or recommendations down the line are greatly accepted!!! If you wish to employ our services on any projects not directly connected to the Alarm Company we would be happy to talk to you.
8. Do you work after hours and is there a charge?
Moore Security will work into the wee small hours to get a job done if it is neccessary. You will not incur an after hours charge for jobs that may run long into the evening. We will work to accomodate your schedule in any way we can. If an installation or service is SCHEDULED for after-hours only, then any additional charges would be discussed during the original job-scope.
9. Do you run service?
We provide service on many security and CCTV systems including testing, trouble-shooting and replacement of equipment.
10. What about ON-CALL Services?
We do not offer on-call service at this time, unless it is an Emergency Service. An example of an Emergency Service would be a front door that is not locking properly, leaving your building vulnerable. We will be including this service in the future. Your monitoring station will be aware of any problems you are having and you will be able to contact them 24 hours a day.
10. Can you work on existing systems?
Yes. If you have an existing system in your building, we can field test it and make sure the installation is sound before we “rehook” it. You must provide us with the Installer Code and we can re-program the system to fit your needs, otherwise a new alarm panel might be required. Call today for a free assessment.
11. Who are some of your customers?
Due to the sensitive nature of the Security Industry and contractual agreements we are unable to give you the names of our customers. We have encountered nearly every building type and all phases of construction, from new builds to remodels and retrofits. Our installations range from food and retail operations, city buildings, distributors, financial institutions, warehouse facilities, healthcare facilities and more.
